I Will Not Hide: I So Have Prepared
I will not hide: I so have prepared myself at the beautician and the beautician that each of the arrived men, apparently, understood not at once, where and to whom it has got. Egor was on the ball, he shone in an excellent Syrian shirt and light trousers, and from time to time I caught on myself its cheerful, a delighted look. At first the high meeting moved a little in a slowed-up way, constraint was felt: the magnificent table, mistress any obviously strange origin, but gradually contents crystal has untied languages, and onions soup - on last Parisian fashion - has caused general approval, and has tritely - gone! The toast was erected behind a toast, and every second was for the fairy, for the goddess - the keeper of this house, for Egor's improbable luck to which the destiny has sent such unusual beauty etc., etc. I have dared to lift too a toast for happiness of a meeting with such surprising people which an elbow-in-elbow, a shoulder-in-shoulder together with my beloved husband have moved on storm of a firm stronghold, and now I see that the enemy fortress is the way out before inevitable capitulation.
